Charadva Mahakali Ashram’s Mahant Attains Mahasamadhi at the Age of 133, Final Rites After Palanquin Procession

Pujya Dayanandgiri Bapu, the revered Mahant of the Mahakali Ashram located in Charadva village of Morbi district, widely known across the Saurashtra region, attained Brahma-leen (Mahasamadhi) this morning at the age of 133. Upon hearing the news of his passing, a large number of devotees gathered from across Jhalawad, Kutch, and Saurashtra. A wave of sorrow swept through the community.

Born on November 4, 1892 (Kartik Sud Poonam), and having passed away on May 23, 2025 (Vaishakh Vad Agiyaras), Pujya Dayanandgiri Bapu lived an extraordinary life of 133 years. His 15-foot-long jata (matted hair) was a major attraction for devotees and spiritual seekers alike. Following his passing, a palanquin procession was held throughout Charadva, after which his mortal remains will be laid to rest in a ceremonial samadhi at the ashram.

According to sources, the palanquin procession for the late Mahant moved through the main streets of Charadva, drawing massive crowds. Devotees gathered in thousands to pay their final respects. The procession concluded at the Mahakali Ashram, where the final rites and samadhi were conducted with great reverence.

Pujya Dayanandgiri Maharaj was a disciple of Gurushree Brahmagiri Maharaj. He spent his life in deep spiritual practice, igniting the flame of devotion and asceticism in the name of Mahakali Ashram throughout the region. His legacy of dedication, devotion, and spiritual guidance left an indelible mark on all who came in contact with him.
