Dahod/Vadodara – Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Gujarat for the first time after the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, marking a significant day for the state with a mix of emotional and infrastructural events.

In Dahod, PM Modi inaugurated the state-of-the-art Rolling Stock Workshop, a locomotive manufacturing plant built with an investment of ₹21,405 crore. Additionally, he dedicated railway infrastructure projects worth ₹2,287 crore, including:

  • Doubling of Anand-Godhra, Mehsana-Palanpur, and Rajkot-Hadmatiya lines
  • Electrification of the 107 km Sabarmati-Botad railway line
  • Gauge conversion of Kalol-Kadi-Katosan section

During the event, Modi proudly highlighted that 100% of Gujarat’s railway network has now been electrified. He also noted that coaches made in Gujarat are now running in Australian metro trains, underlining India’s growing prominence as a major global railway equipment exporter.

Tragedy During Vadodara Visit: Home Guard Dies on Duty

While PM Modi was conducting a roadshow in Vadodara, a tragic incident occurred. Home Guard Nitesh Jariya, who was on security duty in the Kishanwadi area, collapsed suddenly due to a heart attack. He was rushed to Sayaji Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

The incident sparked grief and anger among family members, who alleged that his life could have been saved had he been taken to a nearby hospital instead of the distant Sayaji facility. Emotional scenes unfolded at the hospital as the family mourned the loss.

Meanwhile, two women also fainted during the public event and were admitted to Sayaji Hospital for treatment. Their condition is reported to be stable.

Massive Public Support at Vadodara Roadshow

PM Modi received a grand welcome at the Vadodara airport, where Colonel Sophia Qureshi’s family showered flower petals on him as he stepped out. Dressed in saffron attire, Modi greeted the crowd with folded hands.

A one-kilometre-long patriotic-themed roadshow was held from the airport to the Air Force Gate, attracting thousands of enthusiastic citizens waving the national flag and chanting slogans in support of the Prime Minister and the armed forces.
